For those who have followed the OEM Audio Premier competition this season there has been one constant. Bevon-John Jacobs scoring runs.
He has already had a season to remember and with another five days of two-day cricket there may be more to come.
One record has already fallen, with Jacobs 535 runs in the one-day competition breaking the record for runs in a season previously held by Scott Pawson at 475, set in 2001-02.
In 1981-82 Christchurch Cricket fell into line with domestic and international protocol, separating the statistics for one and two-day cricket. Since then, the top effort in the two-day competition is 821 runs by Ray Jones and with just over 300 two-day runs, Jacobs still has some work to do to claim another record, but with the form he is in, who would bet against him?
